Maintained by the Forestry Commission the pathways through Fermyn Woods are mainly of a gravel consistency. Hikers, families, bikes and horses are all welcome along the route. There is a cafe and toilets at the start of the walk near the car parking area.
The walk meanders through the woodland with benches and viewpoints throughout. There are ponds, numerous opportunites to spot wildlife - including the fantastic red kites - and well-marked sign posts taking you on a circular tour.
