The only brewery in San Mateo county, this brewpub makes about 1000 barrels a year which are served on tap in the pub, and also available bottled to go. There are usually 7 or 8 varieties of ales and 2 or 3 seasonal porters or stouts to choose from each day, including the favorite: Maverick's Amber Ale (robust, brewed with four malts and Cascade hops). The family-friendly dining room has kid-friendly food choices and a sheltered patio overlooking Pillar Point Harbor and beach. The restaurant closes an hour earlier than the bar, which is open till 11PM on weekend nights.
