Pillar Point Harbor is home port for most of the commercial fishing fleet on the central coast. It is also a popular harbor for day sailors and cruisers, and for ocean kayaks. The Pillar Point Harbor Search and Rescue Team has about one hundred cases a year, many assisted by the Coast Guard 87-foot patrol boat USCGC PIKE.
