The Salmon Falls got its name from the fish that once swam upstream to spawn.
It's been dammed now for hydroelectric power for some time now.
But, what's really cool is that you can see around 50 potholes in the exposed riverbed. They range in size from about 6 inches to 39 feet in diameter. They were formed during the last ice age when rocks would get stuck in cracks and the force of the river caused them to spin in place and drill these holes.
Also this place doubles as a swimming hole in the warmer months.
