On this very crisp night, I drove around the plant trying to find a good public access viewpoint without a hike. Was not satisfied with the tree or power line blocked views.

Settled on this location at Recycle America (Waymark WM4TRZ) as across from the coal gasification plant with the natural gas flare, which usually only visible at night. If the flare is small and blue, then it is only using natural gas - and this part of Eastman Chemical Company is running well. If the flame is medium and yellow, then some offgases are being flared due to switching equipment. If the flame is massive, yellow, and making a roar, then the front end of the gasification train is running, but the back is not - which is very expensive.

I would recommend a slower shutter speed to gather more light for better pictures.
