This library is a branch of the Monterey County Library, replacing the small old branch in town. Through the inter-library loan system, patrons can borrow books from any other branch.
The plaza-side decoration of the building pays homage to the importance of artichokes to Castroville's economy. Inside the space is welcoming and bright. The library provides computers for community use, and also free wifi for laptop users.
