"Frains Lake School and the lake behind it have served as focal points of a hamlet and its surrounding farming community since the 19th century. The current brick school was constructed in 1872 in the Italianate style. Architectural features include a cupola on the roof top, projecting molding over window and door openings, and a transom window above the front door. The building received a rear addition in the 1990s."
