Long Description:
"The 9-foot-tall, 18,000 pound reflective black granite stone is engraved with the names of veterans and stands in McGregor Park.
"The center tablet will be cut to resemble the mountain peaks of Afghanistan, and the planter will symbolize the flat plains of Iraq," said Mark Brassard of the Derry Veterans Monument committee."
It will honor all veterans from Derry who chose to serve since October 2001.
