Originally the arch was an entrance to the Easton Neston estate on which Towcester Racecourse now stands. The arch is a Gate Screen, as described by Pevsner. It was built at the same time as the north west and south west lodges by John Raffield in 1822. The arch is signed by William Croggan, 1822 and is made from Coade stone. It consists of a main archway leading the drive through the Easton Neston estate and has Corinthian columns dividing the rest of the screen. There are symbols of the family name of Easton Neston with two deer and two lions with a crest.
