There are three spellings of the name on and in the church.
The parish was established in 1839. The first church of log construction burned on the eve of Ascension Thrusday in 1868. It was repaced by a stone church in 1869. The church in the pictures was built in 1905.
Years ago, one of my Scout's family owned a farm above the church. When the Troop would camp at the farm, we would hike through the woods to attend Sunday Mass.
The farm was sold several years ago and is now a golf course.
Not far down the road from the church is a covered bridge.
