The Temple Beth El was built in 1883. The Temple is the oldest temple west of the Mississippi River that is still in use. The brick building is in a Gothic Revival style. The Temple is well maintained and continues to serve its Jewish congregation.
Temple Beth El is a contributing building in the Missouri State Capitol Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.
