Was built in the 1930s as a work project during The Great Depression. The dam provides wildlife habitat for migrating waterfowl and the reestablished buffalo herd. The lake created, Quanah Parker Lake, is 89 acres with over 3 mile of shoreline. There is a trail that leads to the summit of Little Baldy Mtn, about a mile away. By the way, Quanah Parker was the last chief of the Quahadi Comanche Indians and is credited as the founder of the Native American Church Movement.
