I used the first date on the stone, but you can take your pick.
Something happened in 1837 and 1888 or spanned that period, probably relating to S. Huntington, which may have been a retailer. The "1912 McAulliffe 1928" is also confusing: this was McAuliffe's Office Supply into the Seventies, but what the dates signify is anybody's guess. The company went out of business in 1995.
What I can tell you for sure is that it is currently occupied by an upscale men's clothing store.
