The specifications are; 54 metres tall, 54 pods, 50 metres in Diameter. the ride lasts 13 minutes approximately (Though I am sure it was longer on my occasion)
The location of the Yorkshire Wheel was the second choice, a city centre location had been prefered. It is one mile outside the centre of York, but there is a dedicated motorised train linking the city and the attraction.
The wheel is sponsored by Norwich Union Insurance and has a large white rose of yorkshire on the central hub.
the wheel first turned on April 12th 2006 and there is no date for its removal.
