The statue is located on a pedastal in Washington Square Park. on the base of the pedestal it reads, "Mementos for the historical society in 1979" In the base of the base is a time capsul.
Franklin was one of the "Founding Fathers" of the United States, and one of America's earliest politicians. as the leader of the Enlightenment, he influenced European scientists.
Franklin was one of history's greatest inventors. Some of his greatest creations include the lightning rod and bifocals.
