Capitola city beach may be one of the top ten beaches on the US west coast. Its southern exposure makes it generally warmer than northern California beaches, and its wide expanse allows room for plenty of beachgoers even on summer afternoons. It extends just to the jetty on the east, and to the bluffs of Pleasure Point to the west, across the mouth of Capitola creek.
