This half-mile long beach adjoins Twin Lakes State Beach on its east end (at the harbor entrance) and adjoins Santa Cruz City Main Beach on its west end (at the mouth of the San Lorenzo River). Seabright is as nice a beach as either of its neighbors, but is less popular because it has no shower or foot rinse station. Also, parking in the neighborhood nearby is quite difficult - there is frequent city bus service here, and easy pedestrian and bicycle access.
Although it is a state park, there is no fee. The fancy white gate at the main entrance appears as an outline of a castle, recollecting the era when this was known as "Castle Beach" after a restaurant building which was once located on the bluffs directly above the beach.
