There is an interesting tour of the coin production facilities at the Mint at the corner of T.C.Hwy #1 (Fermor Ave) and Hwy 59 (Lagimodiere Blvd) in Winnipeg Manitoba.

The Winnipeg mint produces the entire supply of circulation coins for Canada as well as circulation coins and ready-to-strike blanks for many foreign countries. The Ottawa Mint produces only collector coins. The Winnipeg facility can produce up to 15 million coins per day.
Tours are offered 9am to 5pm. In summer: 7 days a week; in Winter: Tuesday thru Saturday. Sorry - no free samples
