1912 Tudhope
A five passenger touring car. 36 H.P. 4-cylinder long-stroke motor.
Since restoration, this car has earned its First Junior and First Senior Awards from the Antique Automobile Club of America, as well as the Pamphilon Distinguished Car Award for an outstanding restoration of a car built prior to 1916.
The Orillia Heritage Centre purchased this car in 2007 and is now on display in the main entrance at the City Hall, which housed in earlier days the Tudhope Carriage Works and the Tudhope Motor Car Company.
Tudhopes were manufactured in Orillia, Ontario from 1909 through 1913.
At the time, the Tudhope firm was one of the largest designersand builders of quality horse-drawn carriages in the world and their craftsmanship was reflected in the coach-built quality of their cars. In1910, they entered into an agreement with the Metzger Motorcar Company, manufacture of the Everitt 30, to use that company's patents to build cars in Orillia.
