Boone Trail Marker # 6 - Wytheville, Virginia - Daniel Boone Trail Markers on Waymarking.com

The original monument was erected in 1928 and was one of the few original survivors. Since then the monument had fallen to ruin but was then rebuilt and rededicated as the BB&T Bank in 2005. There is a time capsule that was planted nearby during the same ceremony.

Now the BB&T Bank is no longer in this building. The Bolling-Wilson Hotel now stands at this location. It is named after First Lady Edith Bolling Wilson who was born across the street.
