These markers can be located beside the road which crosses Whitchurch Down. The stone marker marks the boundary between the parishes of Tavistock and Whitchurch, and therefore incised with a T on one side and a W on the other.
The iron marker marks the area which used to be managed (pre 1966) by the Tavistock Rural District Council and Tavistock Urban District Council.

Type of survey mark: Granite stone incised with W/T and Iron post.
