This large sign stretches for almost half the length of this abandoned industrial building. The sign reads:
“Julius Friedlaender Co.
Mfrs. Jute Bagging, Cotton Ties, Cotton Waste”
The warehouse and industrial building in this area of Columbus have been unoccupied for some years and are in a significant state of disrepair. A Google search of the company name turned up no information other than a court case subscription service which offered the transcript of a civil case that involved the “Friedlaender Cotton Company in Columbus, Ga.” in 1945.
