From the Founders and Builders Plaque in front of the Fellowship Hall:

The Charter members of the church migrated from MO to FL by mule train, traveling 11 weeks. They held prayer meetings on Wed. nights and church services each Sunday where they were camped.

The first building was erected in the Gant settlement, about 4 miles west of the present site. It was named the Shiloh United Brethren Church and was constructed of pine lumber. The seats and shingles were hand-hewn, the latter being made of cypress the size of this building was 24 X 36 ft. Prior to the building of this church, services were held in a Baptist Church by the Lake Carroll Cemetery.

In 1906 the frame building was moved to the present site by capstan, mule team, planks, rollers and cable. 1924 saw the first brick building erected to serve the needs of the growing congregation for worship, education and fellowship.
