The Columbus Marriott Hotel is a 177 room hotel that was built in and around a restored cotton mill that began operations in 1861. The original brick mill building with its 24” plus thick walls and heavy hardwood beams was refurbished and converted into the hotel public spaces and workspaces with the guest rooms being housed in a more modern tower that was added to the rear of the mill’s building. The fallout shelter is designated to the interior spaces of the original mill building.
