From the City of Savannah Department of Cemeteries web site (visit link) :
"The arch framing the main entrance to Colonial Park Cemetery was placed here in 1913 by the Savannah chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Made of Georgia granite, it was erected to honor Revolutionary War soldiers buried in the cemetery."
