According to Community Parks and Recreation.org,
"The Oso Creek Trailhead Garden embodies the successful efforts of the City of Mission Viejo to creatively design a small site into a new “front door” to its local trail system. In addition to a trailhead function, the two-acre site is designed with three exceptional elements; an interpretive water garden that inspires environmental stewardship; a mosaic tile wall that illustrates the community's timeline; and a walkway of 12 stepping stones etched with words promoting character development.
In April 2004, almost 2,000 volunteers provided service to their community by installing 15,000 trees and bushes and installing tile on the mosaic wall at the Trailhead Garden."
