Long Meg and her daughters are the third largest stone circle in England, and date from the Bronze Age. Long Meg is made of red sandstone, her daughters are rhyolite, a form of granite. Long Meg is 12 feet high and her daughters weigh up to 29 tons. There are small circles chipped on Long Meg, called cup and rings marks.

Park on access road or in the village of Little Salkeld and walk. In the care of English Heritage who cut the grass organically with farm cows.
