This Boeing Vertol HH-46D helicopter was accepted for service by the U.S. Marine Corps in May of 1964. It was retired after 8,604 hours of service and 28,000 landings. It's GE powerplant developed 1,870 horsepower with a top speed of 167 mph. Empty weight is 15,537 pounds and it had a range of around 236 miles. It was used primarily for search and rescue.
