Long Description:
The city of Airdrie is a rapidly expanding city in southern Alberta about 20 km north of Calgary. It started out as a railroad town in 1889 during the construction of the Calgary - Edmonton railroad and was named after the city of Airdrie in Scotland. It soon attracted settlers and was incorporated as a town in 1909. It will be celebrating it's 100th birthday in 2009

The city hall holds all the administrative offices for the town. It was opened for business on Jan 30, 2004. The link below was the news release issued for the opening.
