This reference Marker is located on the prominent point of Beechey Head. This is one of a series of refernce markers on the Canadian side of the Canada-US border. (See Benchmark TR2513 at geocaching.com as another reference)
The coordinates listed are WGS84 reference. The coordinates of 48-18.853N, 123-39.180W are the average of observation over about a 10 to 15 minute period, as observed on 8/1/08. The coordinates on my GPS bounced around- the pictures of the GPS does not show the exact same as the cooridinates listed.
