The Port Charlotte United Methodist Church first formed its congregation on June 10, 1960 and services were held in the Community Civic Center until the building was constructed in 1962. The sactuary was consecrated on March 2, 1969.
As the congregation expanded so did the building. The 1980's saw a boom of growth and the Church constructed a library, fellowship hall and office complex. There are currently more plans to construct more areas to serve the congregation and community.
