A small town, just north of Saginaw that is well known as the location of a high-level bridge that I-75 uses to cross the Saginaw River. The bridge is famous because it took 9 years and $48 Million in cost overruns to complete.

Zilwaukee was founded in 1848 when Daniel and Solomon Johnson two brothers from New York City, built a saw mill here. Officially organized ten years later, the Johnsons gave the name Zilwaukee to the town purposely to cause people to confuse it with the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in hopes of luring immigrants there to work.
