Along this stretch are some beautiful views of the varying cliff faces. The Jurassic coastline contains the chalk cliffs near Swanage, the fossil rich Kimmeridge Bay, gorgeous Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door.

The details near Durdle Door are available here: visit link

Lulworth Cove
'Lulworth cove is a stunning, textbook perfect, cove and the landscape surrounding it is some of the most outstanding in Britain.

The Heritage Centre, situated right on the beach, explains how the beautiful Lulworth coast has evolved over millions of years. It also covers the landscape and wildlife and their careful management.

Take a look at the new Jurassic Jaws Exhibition at Lulworth Cove Heritage Centre - visit Jurassic Marine Life for more information about the Museum of Jurassic Marine Life project.

The cove itself is a beautiful crescent shape, with fantastic beaches for relaxing and swimming. The cove is also superb for exploring on a boat trip, with a snorkel or by diving for the more adventurous.

A short walk from Lulworth is Durdle Door, a world famous rock arch which is absolutely beautiful. The sloping beach is perfect for a picnic, sunbathing and a stunning photo!

The famous Fossil Forest, also nearby, transports you back 135 million years, where there are the remains of algae and mud that collected around tree stumps and fossilised to form doughnut shaped structures known as 'burrs'. Further along the coast there are the ripple marks of an ancient beach.

Please note that access to the Fossil Forest is through MoD land which is closed when they are firing, however it is open most weekends.

East Lulworth is home to the magnificent Lulworth Castle. A fire in 1929 reduced the castle to a virtual ruin, but fortunately, it has been lovingly restored and the exterior is now back to its former glory. Inside the castle, with the help of artifacts, interpretation and activities for children, this unique building tells the story of its history and of the family who lived here.
