Parking is suggested next to either of the two main trails to the south. The first parking area, N 35° 59.712 W 080° 59.995, is in view of private property. For those preferring a little more privacy, try N 35° 59.802 W 081° 00.186. Either parking area and trailhead will take you to the cache. The decision is up to you.
Upon setting foot on the trail, hikers will ascend past the target's elevation. The descent point will be left up to the hiker. All trails are the clay dirt usually found in the area and most are wide enough for horses and 4x4 vehicles, though flowing water has cut some ruts over the years. The summer months' sunset is a reward in itself, glittering down through healthy green leaves, reflecting rich colors off the leaves on the floor.
The hike is 0.9 miles one way. You begin your elevation a little above 1400' and ascend 300' in half a mile, depending upon your trail of choice. After that, it's a steeper walk downhill to the confluence. Though short, the hike promises some fun along the way.
