The local Watauga chapter of the Aududon Society maintains this birdwatching area, which is on the former ash pits of Eastman Chemical Company and next to the Meadowview golf course. The large open field provides one type of habitat, but the marshy area affords the most activity. Recently observed were a bunch of Chimney Swifts, a Brown Thrasher, a pair of Magnolia Warblers, and a Northern Waterthrush.
