This place is owned by Sue and Al (a local former policeman). It used to be called Kay's- the name of the original owner. It was started about 15 years ago and Sue and Al bought it about 5 years ago. They serve basic comfort food with some excellent fried seafood. I have been eating here since it opened at least 2-3 times per week. When my wife and I walk in they know what we drink at lunch (iced tea) and automatically bring it over. There is one item on the menu which is not always available ( veal patties with gravy and mashed potatoes) but when it is they do not have to ask me what I want for lunch. It is the kind of place where they know your name if you are a regular and local. A few years back they decided to go non-smoking, even though a group of regulars swore they would no longer come. After a somewhat slow first week, these same people came back as well as many others who did not come before because of the smoking. Business has boomed since and if you get there after noon you will wait for a table. They recently also added wine- in basic form only- red, white or blush. Sue or Al will always sit down and chat with you when they are not busy. It is small with about 20 tables and a counter that seats about 10.
