The Georgia Public Safety Memorial was dedicated on June 10, 1997 and stands in honor of all law enforcement officers, firefighters, correctional officers and emergency medical technicians who have given their lives in the line of duty in the state of Georgia. There are currently 672 names engraved on the columns and, according to the GPSTC's librarian who is charge of the memorial’s records there are 100 more names awaiting engraving.
