Long Description:
This entrance to the park is shared with a rest area for I-295 North. The facility has a very large parking area. Park access can be reached by a paved trail starting at the side of the rest area building or be exiting the rear doors of the rest area, The trail trough the park is wide and paved. It is one of the best paved bike paths we have seen. There are cross trails that leave the bike path and can be used for walkers wishing to leave the pavement. The paved path is heavily shaded. The paved trail is currently 17 miles long with plans for an additional 14 miles of paved bike path.

 Background: This park is considered part of the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor. The park hosts the Wilbur Kelly House Museum which is dedicated to presenting transportation history in Rhode Island particularly, the Blackstone River Canal which was constructed to link central Massachusetts to the Atlantic Ocean via Providence.
