The bridge is also known as the Finch Meander Bridge. It was build in 1955 by the 2nd Field Engineer Regiment of the Canadian Military Engineers after Hurricane Hazel destroyed the old one.

It has a single lane for light vehicles controlled by traffic lights. There is a plaque commemorating the effort of the 2nd Field Engineer Regiment located at the south end of the bridge.
