This town has been called “The Snow Capital of the Southeast,” due to the average yearly snowfall often exceeds 100 inches.
That kind of weather, combined with the snow-making capacity at Ski Beech, offers opportunities for skiing and snowboarding, sledding and ice skating.
Children 12 and under can enjoy the free sledding hill, located next to the Beech Mountain Chamber of Commerce and Town Hall. The hill is outfitted with its own snow making machines, keeping it alive with activity throughout the winter. The season is from November through Mid March , weather permitting.
