Addison J. Hodges earned the medal of honor during the Civil War. He was born October 24th, 1841 in Jefferson, Michigan, and died July 28th, 1923 at the age of 81.

"Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He was a prisoner of war. He served as a Corporal in the Union Army in Company B, 47th Ohio Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on May 3, 1863 at Vicksburg, Mississippi. His citation reads "Was one of a party that volunteered and attempted to run the enemy's batteries with a steam tug and two barges loaded with subsistence stores."
