The flag-bearing monument, begun in 2006, replaced the fountain next to City Hall. In order to honor and remember veterans throughout all the country's wars, members of Shooters Motorcycle Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 11179, and American Legion Post 23 raised the money for materials and provided the labor on the project that provided a place for the community to gather for patriotic events even before its completion.

This location has memorials for all of the major wars that the United States has participated in. The memorial stones are engraved with the years of the war, how many served, the number of battle deaths, and number of wounded. Since this war is still ongoing, this information has not yet been engraved in the stone.
