This sculpture is an eye-catching sculpture of a life-size native American trying to catch an eagle. It was presented to the city of Grand Island, August 12, 1996, by Dr. Jose and Mrs. Erla Nader as a tribute to the spirit and dedication of the people of Grand Island. The details are breathtaking! The feathers of the eagle and the muscles and tendons of the Indian are totally realistic. You get caught up in the struggle between man and bird completely.
There is a small square of concrete with a garden of flowers surrounding the sculpture with benches on both sides of the sculpture for people to sit and admire and enjoy. Of all the sculptures I've waymarked, this has to be my favorite.
