Who Put it Here?: American Legion Auxiliary and the People of White County, Ill.
Description of Memorial: A full city block in the heart of downtown dedicated to veterans. Sidewalks box in the park with four, one from each corner, sidewalks dead on to the center. In this center is a marble monument the the Four Chaplains. Two small side stone are mounted on the sidewalk behind the monument. A large flag pole accends through the center of the monument. Not in these pictures, but on the sidewalk parallel to the street is a Revolutionary War Memorial, and an era cannon.
I didn't spend much time here, tornado warnings were up, and heavy winds were blowing. I got my photos, tried to check out everything, and beat feet for the car. Became a very bad afternoon. I know I missed some things here.
