The Punta Gorda Residential District contains some of the original homes constructed by the area's pioneers. Some of the bricked roads are the original pavers. With donated money and hands from the community, other streets in the district are being rebricked with new pavers to restore the entire district to its consistent original beauty. The restored roads have tablets thanking volunteers for their hard work.
Significant buildings in the Punta Gorda Residential District include the Harvey House, The Punta Gorda City Hall, and the A.C. Freeman House. In total, there are over 125 historic buildings in this district.
