The Old Elyria Water Tower was built in 1879. The tower was originally topped with a wood tank and received its water from the nearby Black River which was provided to the City of Elyria. The stone tower is now topped with a metal tank and provides water to an industrial plant. The tower is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
