From the Observatory, you can look over Chicago and Lake Michigan. On a clear day, you can see as far as Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin. You can also step outside onto the Skywalk as look over the Loop and Navy Pier.
John Hancock Observatory is at 875 N. Michigan. This is on the north end of the Magnificant Mile.
