Description of Memorial: In front of a very impressive Legion hall, stand this marble stone and flag pole. Flanked by low wings, which may be bench seats. At top center of the marble monument is an wing spread eagle flanked by the seal of the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary.
I was headed home, not looking for anything, but paying attention. I caught the city welcome sign, thought "Wow, is that the saint from which we derived the word Laboratory." Saw a huge, and I mean huge old church. I dove up the hill and around the church, couldn't see any plaques or such. Thought town would be fair sized, it's not. But confusion, as in some places it is refered to as "St. Laborius" and in other's "St. Labory". Never have gotten to the bottom of that.
Wars mentioned (Multi-war only): Not listed
