Millennium Tree Trail
Dedicated April 29, 2000
The Millennium Tree Trail was given to the people of Florida in commemoration of our millennial year. This linear arboretum was the vision of long-time resident and former Mayor of Sarasota, Jack Gurney. It was designed by Landscape Architect, David Johnston with construction coordinated by Sarasota County Urban Forester, Norm Basey.
Significant contributions were made by governmental agencies, businesses and organizations, individuals and families. Some were made in honor or memory of loved ones.
