This is an open sided Adirondack-type shelter at the Summerland alpine meadow area on Mt. Rainier. The hike to this location is 4 miles one way with about 2000 feet of elevation gain. There are some tent pads nearby and some bear resistant poles to hang your food. Best of all there is a composting toilet for you to use. Be warned that the chipmunks and gray jays here are bold and hungry. Parking and trailhead are at N 46° 53.301 W 121° 36.665.
